Frequently Asked Questions
I am new to training, can you help me?
Of course we can! Being new to training is the perfect time to get the help you need. You will be given the tools necessary to establish a successful fitness lifestyle, avoiding the mistakes many of us have made along the way.
I am a competitor. Do you work with people who compete in sports or lifting?
Yes, we do! Jay has extensive experience as a strength coach and nutritionist, working with professional athletes and world-record-holding lifters. Ali is a former competitive Powerlifter who currently practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I am very busy and don’t want to track macros. Can you help me?
Yes, we can! Macros are only one tool in a toolbox filled with numerous ways to help you learn to eat healthy and sustain a leaner body. Not everyone wants to weigh and measure food. Some do and love it, but there are other ways to manage your eating habits without a food scale.
What does your typical training program look like?
That answer depends on the client. Every client is different, with different needs. We wouldn’t give a competitive Powerlifter the same program we would give a 50-year-old mother of three. This is why our programs are custom designed for your needs, the equipment you have access to, your limitations, your time, and your goals.
How do we communicate?
Training clients will communicate through the training app we use, CoachRx, and nutrition clients communicate through email for check-ins. Through the training app, you can upload videos, send messages, and do your training check-ins. Soon, we will be transitioning all nutrition clients to the CoachRx app to keep everything under one platform.
How quickly do you reply to messages?
If you are messaging during regular working hours, you can expect a reply within the hour. Nutrition clients are required to check in by 8:00 a.m. on their scheduled check-in day so we can review their weekly work and respond to them on the same day. If, for any reason, we are unable to respond to you on the same day with your check-ins, we will notify you in advance.
Do you have a minimum commitment?
Yes, we do! We require a minimum of three months for all packages, which can be paid upfront or in monthly installments. The reason is to have a concrete commitment from you and to ensure that we tailor your nutrition and/or training to work for you.
How often do you update my program?
Every week, we update your program in Coachx. We don't change exercises weekly, but we will adjust intensity, sets, reps, or tempo. This is why communication is essential, so we can adjust properly and not guess. Each program operates in 3-5 week waves, and after each wave, you will have a new set of exercises.
Nutrition has weekly check-ins, and adjustments are made as needed for the client. The old saying, "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” applies to training and nutrition. We don’t adjust for the sake of adjusting; we adjust when necessary.
